Theta Omega Chapter Hosts 38th Annual "Cruise with the Ques" Event in Louisville

On Friday, May 24th, the Theta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted its 38th annual "Cruise with the Ques" event, a much-anticipated bash held each spring in Louisville, Kentucky. Over 500 community members and fraternity brothers gathered for an evening of celebration aboard the historic Belle of Louisville.

The Belle of Louisville, an iconic steamboat launched in 1914, has been a staple of the Louisville waterfront for over a century. It is the oldest operating Mississippi River-style steamboat in the world, offering a unique glimpse into the region's rich riverboat heritage. The Belle's storied history added a layer of charm to the evening's festivities.

The event kicked off with a lively Pre-Dock Party from 6 pm to 8 pm. Guests enjoyed an array of delicious food and beverages provided by the brothers of Theta Omega. DJ Rell set the tone for the night, playing an eclectic mix of tunes that got everyone in the party spirit. Attendees mingled and danced, reveling in the vibrant Caribbean theme that colored the evening.

Boarding began at 8:30 pm, and by 9 pm, the Belle of Louisville set sail on the Ohio River. For the next two hours, DJ K Dogg kept the energy high with a satisfying playlist of modern hits and old school jams, ensuring the dance floor was never empty. The iconic views of the Louisville skyline, coupled with the cool river breeze, created a memorable backdrop for the night's celebrations.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is known for its commitment to community service and education. In the spirit of "partying with a purpose," the proceeds from the "Cruise with the Ques" event will contribute to academic scholarships for students in Louisville and the surrounding areas. The Theta Omega Chapter's dedication to supporting education through their events highlights the fraternity's ongoing mission to make a positive impact in their community.

As the Belle of Louisville docked at the end of the evening, Brothers from Theta Omega, Phi Eta and other Omega chapters amazed guests with a display of their “Hop” routines as they disembarked.  Many entertaining memories were created over the course  of an unforgettable night. The Theta Omega Chapter's "Cruise with the Ques" once again proved to be a valued tradition, blending fun, fellowship, and philanthropy on the scenic Ohio River.

Special recognition goes out to Brother Bryan Barnett (Social Action Chair) and Cruise Committee Chairs Brother TJ Stallard and Brother Kevin Tytus for coordinating  and planning this outstanding event.
