The Theta Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. hosted a remarkable event that left an indelible mark on the local community and the hearts of all attendees. The Jim Green Golf Classic, held at the prestigious Polo Fields Country Club, in Louisville, KY was a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and a shared commitment to uplifting the community.
The Golf tournament is held annually to fund the Theta Omega Chapter community outreach, Men of Quality and other youth development programs in the Greater Louisville Area.
The success of this event can be directly attributed to the legacy of Brother Jim Green, a member of University of Kentucky Hall of Fame and esteemed brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Brother Green's influence and dedication to the cause were evident throughout the tournament, which saw a remarkable turnout of 29 teams, totaling 116 players, including 31 women golfers.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of new Jim Green Hall of Fame recipients, namely Rita Holman, James Holman, and Elmo Greer, who joined the ranks of past honorees who were recognized for their dedication and service to the sports community in Kentucky.
